residential exterior with elevated pavilion and tennis court

1912 Queenslander relocated and reconceived as a guest house and leisure pavilion.

An original 1912 Queenslander was relocated within the site to make way for a new tennis court at the rear, restructuring the relationship between the house and the landscape.

Reconceived as a guest house and leisure pavilion, the building now incorporates a gym, sauna, lounge, bar and golf simulator. It operates as a secondary layer to the main residence rather than a standalone structure.

The Queenslander's timber detailing and proportions are retained. Contemporary insertions in timber, steel and concrete establish a clear distinction between original and new fabric. At ground level, large operable openings connect interior and exterior, extending toward the tennis court.

Horizontal timber planes structure movement across the site, creating a sequence of shaded and open zones between the living areas and the court.
